Ron Paul for President

Why I support Ron Paul
By Rhoetus

The "Conservative Movement" is dead. Its founders have all passed away; Frank Chodorov, Leonard E. Read, Bill Buckley Jr, Whittaker Chambers, M. Stanton Evans, Rev. Edmond Opitz, Friedrich Hayek, Henry Hazlitt, Willis E. Stone, Robert HW Welch Jr, Barry M. Goldwater, Ronald W. Reagan, et.al.

There was some hope that the election in 1980 of Ronald Reagan as President of the United States, the “movement” had influenced public opinion enough to turn the preverbal corner toward traditional American ideals. The “Movement” had been weakened in recent years its strength had been drained by squabbling about single issue politics and Conservative politicians that governed like Left-Liberals. Alas, the younger generation having taken the reins of publications such as National Review has lost the meaning. With their 15 minute attention span they no longer advocate individualism and strict observance of the US Constitution. They seek legitimacy in supporting the established Progressive government institutions. They are no longer motivated to advocate free-market solutions instead of government programs.

Not since Barry Goldwater ran for President have I seen such ad-hominem attacks against a candidate that doesn’t tow the party line. I still remember quite vividly all the vicious attacks on Goldwater, how he was too extreme and would cause a nuclear war, etc. Ronald Reagan too was attacked when he first ran for Governor, that he was only an “actor”; he could play a Governor but was not qualified to govern.

It’s been nearly 32 years since Reagan was elected President, what is the state of our union? We have an American Empire that teeters on bankruptcy. It’s every socialist’s wet dream in 1890; who could not even imagine how their dreams have been realized. This reminds me of the novel: “Looking Backward” by Edward Bellamy.

Now the established conservative media are using Nelson Rockefeller’s strategy targeting Ron Paul and using the same tactics. The American system is bankrupt and Romney’s presentation of technocratic management will be ineffective in solving our debt crisis, freedom choking regulations, government intervention in all aspects of both our private and business life. We need a “Velvet Revolution” here in America. We Americans can learn from Vaclav Havel and Vaclav Klaus.
The Czech’s reestablished freedom in their country after years of brutal repression from a totalitarian system.

There is no “Third Way” – we must reject the ideas of the Progressives whether they call themselves Democrats or Republicans. If we don’t restore our liberties under the Constitution now, when?
